In the past decade there has been a dramatic interest in cosmetic dentistry. We all realize that having a healthy, bright, beautiful smile enhances our appearance and allows us to smile with confidence. Thanks to the advances in modern cosmetic dentistry, we are able to improve our teeth and smiles with quick, painless and surprisingly affordable treatments.

Cosmetic dental treatments can:

Teeth can become stained by many factors in life: food, drink, smoking, and natural aging can cause your teeth to loose that "pearly white" color we see on models and children.

With teeth whitening, we can provide a safe and effective solution to staining and yellowing. Making sure you use professional tools rather than home kits is important. Some home kits can cause damage to your enamel, and put your teeth at risk for cavities, or sensitivity.

Veneers are thin laminates that can be used to correct discolored, worn down, cracked or chipped teeth. Veneers can also be used to close gaps between teeth.

In just two or three dental visits, a veneer can reverse years of stains caused by foods, caffeine or tobacco use, and can also be used as alternatives to crowns to correct crooked, missized, misshappen, or chipped teeth. Veneers can completely reshape your teeth and smile.

Bonding is an alternative to veneers. A tooth-colored material that is matched to the enamel of your teeth is molded and shaped, and then hardened and polished. Bonding can be used to improve the color of a tooth, or close gaps between your teeth. It is fairly simple, and can improve problems due to chips, gaps, or discoloration.

Bonding is generally not as permanent as a veneer, and can be vulnerable to the same kind of staining your natural teeth are prone to. Bonding can also be more prone to chips and cracks than veneers, so feel free to talk to us about your options so we can decide what is best for you.

Crowns are synthetic caps, usually made of a material like porcelain, which are placed on the top of a tooth. Crowns are typically used to restore a tooth's function and appearance following a restorative procedure like a root canal.

Crowns are also used to attach bridges, cover implants, prevent a cracked tooth from becoming worse, or when an existing filling is in jeopardy of becoming loose or dislocated. Crowns also serve an aesthetic use, and are placed when a discolored or stained tooth needs to be restored to its natural appearance.

Bridges are natural-looking dental appliances that can replace a section of missing teeth by "bridging" between your existing teeth. Because they are custom-made, bridges are barely noticeable and can restore the natural contour of teeth as well as the proper bite relationship between upper and lower teeth.

Implant bridges are similar, but are attached to an area below the gum tissue or the jaw bone. These are a more permanent option, and look just like a real tooth!

Implants are synthetic structures that are placed in the area of the tooth normally occupied by the root. Implants are anchored to the jawbone or metal framework on the bone and act as a foundation for an artificial tooth or permanent bridge. In some cases, implants can be used to attach dentures.

Implants mimic the look and feel of natural teeth, and are a permanent solution to missing teeth. They are usually made out of titanium and ceramics. Getting an implant can take several visits, in which we put in an anchor, allow this to heal, and then the artificial tooth can be fitted over the anchor.

Check ups, cleanings and deep cleanings are all a vital part of your dental health. We offer general dentistry to help you keep up on your healthy smile. Our exams may include x-ray examination, oral cancer screening, gum disease evaluation, tooth decay exam, and an examination of any existing restorations. We also make sure to thoroughly clean your teeth and gums, removing tartar, plaque and polishing your teeth.
